The frame has an aged white painted finish on the outside and the original shellac (varnish) finish on the interior side, each with a beautiful patina. PAIR of ENGLISH STAINED GLASS LEADED WINDOWS 28″ x 20″ with Original Sashes Double Hung. I really don’t know how old these particular windows are. I bought these windows at an antique store in 2004. The store only sells windows salvaged from England. The owner told me that what made this pair especially valuable was because there are 4 different types of glass (as opposed to the number of colors)used in each window. I bought them because they are pretty and would match my kitchen decor. Some of the glass pieces have bubbles from the way the glass was made (poured on a slab). The pattern reminds me of Edwardian, Art Nouveau style. The window frames are detailed with curved wood on one end of each window. The glass is in shades of blue, dark green, light green and variegated shades of purple and yellow. Depending on the time of day, the glass displays a variety of color. These windows are designed to be double hung, with a rope and pulley system. Measurements are of the window frame. Actual glass measurements are 24 1/2″ X 16″. Of course, the glass can easily be pulled from the existing window frames, and displayed in any number of ways. I always knew that eventually I would sell them, so I left them in the original frames. I brought them home, stripped the layers (and layers) of paint, stained them and hung them. One piece of the original hardware is still on one of the windows. I don’t know what type of wood frame, but they are very heavy. The glass is in great shape, no cracks, no chips. I currently have these windows hanging in my kitchen, in front of my own double hung rope and pulley system windows. I didn’t want curtains, and I wanted to take advantage of the natural light. Stained glass windows were perfect. I have remodeled my kitchen, and these colors just don’t fit my new color scheme. Please look at the pictures, as it is part of the description. I took these pictures right after it rained, as the sun was coming out. The glass is so clear, you can see the raindrops clinging to my window screens! If you have any questions, please message me. Prior to the name change, the city was called Bloody Corners and reputedly was one of the most violent cities in the US. Local leaders brought religion to Bloody Corners in an attempt to disguise their violent past, and renamed the town Friendship. Among the contents, were the original stained glass windows stored in the attic below the bell tower. This beautiful all original stained glass window still preserved in the wood frame is both rare and beautiful. This one is dated 1903 and is 108 tall by 38.5 wide in frame. Sorry to do this and I hope you will stay on as fine and loyal customers. That’s an unbelievable savings as well. I have for sale this very nice arts and crafts style signed periwinkle Handel leaded lamp. The tree trunk base is one of handels most desired bases they ever made and you can see why. The base measures 25 inches tall and the shade is 20 inches wide, so this is a large full sized lamp folks. Most of these periwinkles come in 16 inch shades, not the larger and more desirable 20 inch sizes like this one. The base without issue, which means no metalware breaks or damage and its in fine working order. The patina excellent throughout the base and the base also retains it original hubbell sockets and acorn pulls that work flawlessly. The shade also in original condition with all pieces of glass present and accounted for. A few stray tight age cracks, 2-3 or so, here or there as would be expected for a leaded shade such as, especially with the shade having several hundred pieces in the making process such as this. The glass vibrant and alive as the pictures show and all the leading intact. Excellent original patina on the leading throughout as well, please see photos. The shade signed on the inside, please see photo, and the base also signed with original felt cloth bottom and cloth Handel tag. By the way, I only used 7 watt bulbs to give you some idea how good the glass lights up. Simply a great period handel lamp in excellent overall condition.
