PAIR Antique Stained Leaded Glass CATHEDRAL Memorial Windows Matthew 1914

This pair of beautiful stained and leaded glass memorial windows features exquisite craftsmanship by the Alfred M. Bell Company of Boston Massachusetts, one of Tiffany Studios nearby competitors in the high end art window market. This pair features the much loved biblical verse from Matthew 19:14 with Jesus admonishment to “. Suffer little children to come to me. “. Each window carefully composed of high quality art glass panels intricately leaded, with hand painted lettering and is framed in original heavy iron window frame from cathedral, with reinforced wire mesh safety glass panel on reverse, as pictured. Very heavy at 35 pounds each window, unpacked. Offered as found, with age appropriate wear. An excellent pair of windows that can be adapted to any setting. Each window measures 23.5″ x 18″. HISTORICAL STAINED LEADED GLASS MEMORIAL WINDOW, A. HERR SMITH(WHIG) EARLY 1900s

HISTORIC MEMORIAL STAINED LEADED GLASS WINDOW, A. HERR SMITH, EARLY 1900s. THIS WINDOW IS A RARE FIND. THIS IS A MEMORIAL WINDOW HONORING A WHIG MEMBER OF THE PA HOUSE AND SENATE IN THE MID TO LATE 1800s. THIS WAS A VERY POWERFUL MAN WHO LIVED IN THE LANCASTER AREA OF PENNSYLVANIA. HIS LEGACY IS CELEBRATED BY DICKINSON COLLEGE, HIS ALMA MATER. THERE IS A MEMORIAL HALL IN HIS NAME. THE WINDOW IS VERY NICE AND HEAVY. PROBABLY DATES TO LATE 1800s or EARLY 1900s, SMITH DIED IN 1894. WINDOW APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENT: 14 3/16″ BY ABOUT 43 7/8″. IT HAS 3 SUPPORT BARS IN PLACE. THERE IS HANDPAINTED AND FIRED GLASS AND 2 LARGE JEWELS. AS WITH ANY WINDOW THIS AGE.. THERE ARE A COUPLE TIGHT CRACKS, AND A FEW WHICH LOOK LIKE THEY WERE PROFESSIONALLY LEADED OVER. THIS WINDOW COMES WITH A PACKET OF INFORMATION REGARDING A. CALL ME, AND MAYBE WE CAN PICK A SPOT TO MEET.
