Up for sale is a stunning Duffner & Kimberly Louis 15th leaded glass lamp. The last picture shows a page from the original Duffner 1906 catalog documenting the lamp. This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of lamp history. Great Duffners rarely come up so now is your chance. It measures 18.75″ across and 23″ tall. It is in excellent, original condition with a beautiful gold finish. Has a few scattered single hairlines and 1 spider crack in a small piece of glass but it does not detract from the beauty of this lamp at all. To me, the pattern and shape is so mesmerizing I find myself just sitting and staring at it. Not to mention the colors. Has the original 4 socket bronze base as shown in the catalog also. Someone added an on/off switch to preserve the original sockets. Guaranteed to be an original Duffner & Kimberly Louis 15th lamp circa 1906. The entire shade is beautifully leaded with patina on all the leading very similar to what you find on a Tiffany shade. AN ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS RARE LARGE LAMP! It is all original -other than rewiring. At some point in the distant past. Both the shade and base are signed. (photos 3, 4, &5). The shade measures 19 diameter. And about 9 deep. The base measures about 23-11/16. To the top of the finial, and about 8-3/8. Across the widest part of the bottom. It retains its three original. Hubbell acorn pull sockets. All patina and wear is original to this lamp. I found no repairs (except for the rewiring). I found 7 or 8 scattered heat cracks. (I was fairly thorough, but may have missed some). All original factory-applied patina is very intact. With notable loss only to one socket. This lamp is in good working order. The cord is older, but shows no notable fraying. The pull chain switches all function properly. If you would prefer it to be rewired, contact. Will require a large box – which I’m sure. Signed HANDEL on back side of base (see pics) Shade: there are a lot of “so called Handel shades” there were a mess of knock off Handel shades in the 1980’s and 90’s. The shade is solid and well made Handel style aperture ring. One way to tell the knock offs is the ring will NOT fit a Handel cap. This one fits perfectly. Leading looks aged inside and out. The eye of the flowers. Newer made shades, eyes in flowers are beads of glass. Old shades eyes are cut pieces of glass, as with this shade. Foot is 8 wide. Shade 18.5″ wide 8″ deep. Normal 3 5/8 Handel aperture. 3 Hubbell pull chain sockets all with acorn pull chains. Wired with a period style cloth cord & vintage plug. Bring a little SPRING into your home early!
