ANTIQUE STAINED GLASS TRANSOM WINDOW 41.75 x 23 ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE

This is a great window that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian. It has wonderful colors and a great Art Neuveau design. The new pine frame is ready for paint or stain. It measures 41.75 inches wide by 23 tall and is. 1.5 inches thick. The glass only measures approximately 38 by 19 inches. Overall it is in good condition. Scratches and dings as it is antique. There are several hairlines but no missing glass. Please look at the pictures carefully. I describe all my items as accurately as possible with descriptions and often pictures of any damage. I try to measure within 1/8 of an inch. My salvage business was born of necessity in 1993 when I started restoring an old Victorian home that had seen better days. I needed doors, staircase parts, fireplace mantles and more, so I contacted the owners of a few local buildings that were scheduled for demolition. 17 years later this is still my full time job! I salvage whatever I can think can be reused as long as there is room in my warehouse. The warehouse is open for treasure hunting anytime by appointment. Just contact me to schedule a day and time! This lamp is special to me as this is only one known – so make reasonable offer soon or your chance to own it yourself will not happen again! I’m ending this listing Friday late morning. Riviere Studios floral – red trumpet creeper vine leaded glass table lamp 20″ tall & 12″ wide shade on unsigned but known Riviere Studios hand hammered bronze base. Exquisite translucent green glass similar to Tiffany Studios glass used in some of their lamps. Leaded glass shade is closed top construction with 4 petal red trumpet vine flower dominates the closed top. Correction in description from a helpful kind E-bayer an informed long time collector of antique lamps: Collector told me facts I didn’t know myself. The bronze base was produced in a mold in the shape it is in. Base made in mold with bulbous pitted form that was not hand hammered as I thought was done & 2nd fact the glass in the leaves was not hand hammered either as molten glass was poured on a table the texture in glass came from manipulating the molten glass by pushing glass with tools to produce the bevels that are in this glass & these pieces of cooled beveled glass were hand selected to use as the leaves of the vine connecting to the red trumpet florals. No hand hammering of base nor glass was used in making of this Riviere Studios lamp so please disregard my description where I mentioned hand hammering was used! I’m learning about these lamps and their production as I collect to help me be more knowledgeable about them. Look carefully the last 3 pics are closeups of hand hammered autumn color glass used in the leaves which reflects & refracts the light from bulb’s output because of the hammered bevels in the glass. Very unusual & labor costly hand hammered glass is what really makes this lamp quality different from other antique lamps. Riviere Studios in New York is considered to be one of the direct competitors of Tiffany Studios which the quality of this lamp bears this out! Good lamp quality & much less costly than an authentic period Tiffany Studios similar leaded glass lamp. Condition: I counted 5 very small heat cracks in shade quite small amount of heat cracks for a closed top shade. No other damage in shade or base. Base is hand hammered round bulbous foot that is 7 wide with a telltale sign that this unsigned base was made by Riviere Studios is the set screws attached at ends of the 4 spider arms for leaded shade support so set screws could be tightened to move lamp to another location & shade would stay in place. This feature was made by Riviere Studios Co with documentation of this feature presented in one of the antique lamp identification books. Bronze base has 2 early Hubbell sockets with bronze acorn pulls. I do not honor return of lamp unless lamp is not as described. These transom pieces were usually over a door or across the top of a large window. The sizes are 36.25″ x 15.5″ Glass & 38.25″ x 18″ overall including the frame. The colors are Tan, Blue, Red and Streaky Green/Mauve. The background glass is mixed with clear and moderately obscured glass. There is a tiny flaw in the top left Tan pane of glass, as seen in the photo. This is NOT a crack. The original frame was unsalvageable so we have put this window in a new, painted frame. This is a great piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It has mostly distorted glass, some clear some light purple with 8 beveled pieces. There are no cracks or breaks. The original frame is painted on both sides. It measures 34.75 inches wide by 22.5. And 1.5 inches thick. The glass only is appx. Overall it is in good condition. Scratches and dings as it is antique. The glazing putty will need to be touched up. The frame has a corner that has a small gap and is a little loose.. It could use a good cleaning. Please look at the pictures carefully. I describe all my items as accurately as possible with descriptions and often pictures of any damage. I try to measure within 1/8 of an inch.
