A pattern set means that the design of the window flows from one window to the next. These Stain Glass Windows are Not an Antique. I would guess they are around 30 to 40 years old, maybe a little older and were custom made for someone’s home. I would assume they were used as a transom type window. They have been placed in what we call a “shippers frame”. This type of frame, although they have been painted, have been made out of scrap or salvaged lumber, normally pine, fir or another white wood. Another neat point about these windows is that you can hang them “upside down” and still have a pattern set with the Tulips pointing down instead of up. Please Read This Carefully. We try to only sell OLD Windows. Glass making was not perfected until around 1930. Before then a lot of glass, especially glass made into sheets had bubbles, waves, imperfections such as ridges or lines of separation when the glass was made. It’s not unusual at all to find these in our windows, in most cases it’s desirable because it validates the age of the windows. If you get a window that to you looks like a “crack” is in it, simply run your finger across the line on both sides to “feel” the glass, if one side is smooth and the other side has a ridge or bump, it’s simply an imperfection in the way the glass was made. CRACKS Can Be Felt on BOTH Sides of the Glass, you can’t crack one side on a piece of glass without cracking both sides. Each window has pretty Burgundy, Two (2) types of Amber, Two (2) Shades of Green and two (2) types of textured White glass. There are NO CRACKS in the glass of these window. Each window is about 23″ wide and about 14 3/8″ tall overall. The glass in the window is about 20 1/2″ X 12 1/4″. Check Out My Feedbacks!!
