Beautiful caramel and green glass with great design and red jewels and accents around border of the shade , has a couple of panes with a crack , which dont deter at all from its beauty. The spider crack shown is largest. The lamp stands 23 tall , the base is 9 diameter. The shade is 17 wide and 7 high. The base was originally a gas lamp. This lamp is special to me as this is only one known – so make reasonable offer soon or your chance to own it yourself will not happen again! I’m ending this listing Friday late morning. Riviere Studios floral – red trumpet creeper vine leaded glass table lamp 20″ tall & 12″ wide shade on unsigned but known Riviere Studios hand hammered bronze base. Exquisite translucent green glass similar to Tiffany Studios glass used in some of their lamps. Leaded glass shade is closed top construction with 4 petal red trumpet vine flower dominates the closed top. Correction in description from a helpful kind E-bayer an informed long time collector of antique lamps: Collector told me facts I didn’t know myself. The bronze base was produced in a mold in the shape it is in. Base made in mold with bulbous pitted form that was not hand hammered as I thought was done & 2nd fact the glass in the leaves was not hand hammered either as molten glass was poured on a table the texture in glass came from manipulating the molten glass by pushing glass with tools to produce the bevels that are in this glass & these pieces of cooled beveled glass were hand selected to use as the leaves of the vine connecting to the red trumpet florals. No hand hammering of base nor glass was used in making of this Riviere Studios lamp so please disregard my description where I mentioned hand hammering was used! I’m learning about these lamps and their production as I collect to help me be more knowledgeable about them. Look carefully the last 3 pics are closeups of hand hammered autumn color glass used in the leaves which reflects & refracts the light from bulb’s output because of the hammered bevels in the glass. Very unusual & labor costly hand hammered glass is what really makes this lamp quality different from other antique lamps. Riviere Studios in New York is considered to be one of the direct competitors of Tiffany Studios which the quality of this lamp bears this out! Good lamp quality & much less costly than an authentic period Tiffany Studios similar leaded glass lamp. Condition: I counted 5 very small heat cracks in shade quite small amount of heat cracks for a closed top shade. No other damage in shade or base. Base is hand hammered round bulbous foot that is 7 wide with a telltale sign that this unsigned base was made by Riviere Studios is the set screws attached at ends of the 4 spider arms for leaded shade support so set screws could be tightened to move lamp to another location & shade would stay in place. This feature was made by Riviere Studios Co with documentation of this feature presented in one of the antique lamp identification books. Bronze base has 2 early Hubbell sockets with bronze acorn pulls. I do not honor return of lamp unless lamp is not as described. It has a broken glass shade with all the pieces present to be glued. One other shade has a crack as these are in all the photos listed as is the store it came from. The diameter is 18 1/2 and top opening is 3 1/2. The 8 shades are a beautiful swirled glass design in an original leaded casing. This a rare size Unique lamp be sure to make up your mind before it’s gone. Has a slight rattle from age and a hairline see last picture. 110 years old or so everything will show normal aging. This is a beautiful museum quality Reproduction of Tiffany Studios wonderful Wisteria Lamp on its Large tree trunk bronze base. Considered to be one of the lamps with the Irregular Upper and Lower Border shades, Dr. Neustadt, in his book, “The Lamps of Tiffany” states “In conception, as well as workmanship, these shades represent the apogee of all Tiffany’s creative accomplishments”. “Infinitely delicate in design, the standard Wisteria is made up of more than a thousand small pieces of painstakingly selected glass in highly complicated, meticulously cut, curved shapes”. This particular Yellow Wisteria shade actually has 1,930 pieces of glass in it, primarily Youghiogheny, Uroborus and Bullseye glass. They flow down from the bronze tree branch crown and are supported by bronze branches running through the leaded glass leaves down the sides of the glass shade to its very irregular lower border. This shade also features the gently rounded corners from the Bronze crown to the sides of the shade. The Bronze base is an Odyssey Lamp base and is guaranteed to be an exact reproduction of a model produced by Tiffany Studios. The molds from which it was case were taken directly off an original Tiffany lampbase. No parts or external details have been altered or simplified. The patination technique is identical to that emnployted by Tiffany Studios. This is a true reproduction in every way. The original Tiffany Wisteria Lamps were the design of one of Tiffany’s Girls, Clara Driscoll who also designed the Dragonfly Shades. This is a beautiful large lamp, standing about 26 inches tall on its 14 inch patinated base. The shade is 18 inches in diameter and some 16 to 17 inches tall. The base alone weighs 19.25 pounds and the shade weighs in at 18.15 pounds making a lamp that comes in just under 40 pounds of bronze and leaded glass. Just a wonderful lamp. The Wisteria lamp is my personal favorite lamp and one of the reasons I got into this kind of lamp business some 50 years ago. A wonderful opportunity to have one for your home or office at a fraction of those costs. At the present time, there is a good selection of numerous models of both shades and bases. When they are gone, they are gone and there will be no more available in this price range. If you have an interest in Tiffany Studios high quality Reproduction Lamps, this is the time to get one. I can separate shade from the base if you desire either one rather than the entire lamp. Up for consideration is a signed Bigelow & Kennard leaded dome shade. If you collect Bigelow you know how rare all there shades are. They just dont come up very often. This shade is signed and sizes 22 Dia. 7 1/2 Deep aperture 4 1/4. Shade has a great Arts Crafts look. Nice size shade to use on a lamp base or hanging hardware. I think all the glass is original even though some panels look off in color just because of the leading work is so nice is why I say this. Which Bigelow is known for. Ill let you decide by my pictures. There are about 5 or 6 glass tiles with some cracks. Ive taken a lot of pictures to show you the condition of the shade which is part of the description.
