Stained glass window
Beautiful stained glass, beveled and jeweled window. Circa 1885 it measures 24″x 29″. Stain, beveled and jeweled windows are harder to find. And the fact that there is red glass in this window means it was a commissioned window. Red glass in the 1880s was very expensive as gold was used to make red glass. There was one crack which I have pointed out. The red button square jewels are also a rarity. Nice beveled central focal point with round center is flanked by 2 rondels. There are 76 individual pieces of glass in this window. 47 Stained glass, 19 bevels, eight square red button jewels and two rondels.
