If you are familiar with barrister or lawyer’s bookcase, you know the small half size is much harder to find. A rarer size than the typical size of 34 inches wide this piece is 17 wide. Neat quartered oak piece as it also has a drawer in the bottom and leaded glass in the top door. Piece has been refinished and has a smooth even finish. Overall 17 wide, 12 deep, and 57 high. Note the’bullnose’ top as was typical of the Globe-Wernicke bookcases. The bottom section is 13 1/2, the next section up is an 11 1/2, and the top two sections are the 9 1/2 size; a graduated size bookcase. Neat cabinet ready for your office or home. Adorable half size oak barrister stacked bookcase. Sometimes called a lawyers bookcase. Piece is executed in quartered quartersawn oak with top door with leaded glass. Additional highlights include a full skirt and bull nose top section. These half size cases were made by a couple companies namely Macey and Globe Wernicke. Unfortunately no labels remain. Completely professionally restored some of the backs, bands, etc. May have been replaced with a smooth and even finish. This is an exceptional unit in that it has a graduated bottom section (taller). Very versatile and functional piece. 17 wide x 12 deep x 62 high. The individual stack at the bottom measures 13.5 high. The rest of the stacks are 11.5 high.
