Antique Stained Glass Windows Top And Bottom Double Hung Salvage
These great windows were salvaged from a Philadelphia church that was demolished in the late 1990’s. Another church saved the windows and planned to use them but 20+ years later they decided to sell. Originally they were from The Central Methodist Episcopal church on Orthodox Street Philadelphia. They have great colors and design. The lower window has a panel that reads In memory of Kate Rohrer. The original frames are painted on the outside. Upper measures 24.5 wide 33.5 tall and 1.75 thick. Lower measures 24.5 wide, 34.5 tall and 1.75 thick. The glass only in each is 20.5 x 30.5. Overall they are in good condition. Scratches and dings as they are antique. The glazing putty could use some touch up. There are a couple hairlines but no missing glass. The frames have a couple cosmetic chips. Please look at the pictures carefully. I describe all my items as accurately as possible with descriptions and often pictures of any damage. Antique Stained Glass Windows Double Hung Top & Bottom Salvage
These wonderful windows were salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian. It is a double hung or up and down window set. The glass is mostly clear distorted with a band of light purple. The design is the same in each window. They are in their original frames, the outsides are painted. Upper 36.75 wide by 43 tall by 1.75 thick. Lower 36.75 by 44.25 tall by 1.75 thick. The glass only is approx. 32 by 39.5for both. Overall they are in good condition. Scratches and dings as they are antique. They could use a good cleaning. There are a couple hairlines in each window. Antique Stained Glass Windows Double Hung Top & Bottom Salvage
These wonderful windows were salvaged from a Baltimore Victorian. It is a double hung or up and down window set. They have wonderful colors and design. The upper window has a circle top frame and the glass follows this curve. They are in their original frames which are in good shape and are painted on both sides. Upper 33 wide by 41.5 tall by 1.75 thick, glass only appx 28.75 x 37.75 with 7 jewels. Lower 33 by 43.5 tall by 1.75 thick, glass only appx 28.75 x 37.25 with 10 jewels. Overall they are in good condition. Scratches and dings as they are antique. They could use a good cleaning. There are a few tight hairlines. The glazing putty will need to be touched up. Some of the glass was replaced and is not a perfect match. There are L brackets at the lower corners of the upper frame. Please see the pictures carefully. The glass only is approximately 27 x 16 inches in each window. Overall, they are in good co ndition. Light scratches and dings as they are antique. They could use a good cleaning. Each window has one piece of glass with hairlines. Both frames have small cosmetic chips. A few pieces of glass look like they were replaced at some point, the texture does not match but the colors are very close. Please look at the pictures carefully. Antique Textured Leaded Stained Glass Double Hung Window Orig Frame
Stained Glass Window in original window wood frame. Has hinges on the wood frame. I did clean with a damp cloth but still needs a throrough cleaning. There is one small crack in glass in one window. The rest look good. One side of window was outside as it has more dirt. I know nothing about these windows so let me know if you have questions or comments. The window frame is 16 1/2 by 18 1/2. The glass is 15 by 13 1/8 and there looks to be a lip around glass frame of maybe 3/4. PAIR ENGLISH STAINED GLASS LEADED WINDOW 28 x 20 withOriginal Sash Double Hung
PAIR of ENGLISH STAINED GLASS LEADED WINDOWS 28″ x 20″ with Original Sashes Double Hung. I really don’t know how old these particular windows are. I bought these windows at an antique store in 2004. The store only sells windows salvaged from England. The owner told me that what made this pair especially valuable was because there are 4 different types of glass (as opposed to the number of colors)used in each window. I bought them because they are pretty and would match my kitchen decor. Some of the glass pieces have bubbles from the way the glass was made (poured on a slab). The pattern reminds me of Edwardian, Art Nouveau style. The window frames are detailed with curved wood on one end of each window. The glass is in shades of blue, dark green, light green and variegated shades of purple and yellow. Depending on the time of day, the glass displays a variety of color. These windows are designed to be double hung, with a rope and pulley system. Measurements are of the window frame. Actual glass measurements are 24 1/2″ X 16″. Of course, the glass can easily be pulled from the existing window frames, and displayed in any number of ways. I always knew that eventually I would sell them, so I left them in the original frames. I brought them home, stripped the layers (and layers) of paint, stained them and hung them. One piece of the original hardware is still on one of the windows. I don’t know what type of wood frame, but they are very heavy. The glass is in great shape, no cracks, no chips. I currently have these windows hanging in my kitchen, in front of my own double hung rope and pulley system windows. I didn’t want curtains, and I wanted to take advantage of the natural light. Stained glass windows were perfect. I have remodeled my kitchen, and these colors just don’t fit my new color scheme. Please look at the pictures, as it is part of the description.
