MEMORIAL STAINED GLASS WINDOW, A. HERR SMITH, EARLY 1900s. THIS WINDOW IS A RARE FIND. THIS IS A MEMORIAL WINDOW HONORING A WHIG MEMBER OF THE PA HOUSE AND SENATE IN THE MID TO LATE 1800s. THIS WAS A VERY POWERFUL MAN WHO LIVED IN THE LANCASTER AREA OF PENNSYLVANIA. HIS LEGACY IS CELEBRATED. BY DICKINSON COLLEGE, HIS ALMA MATER. THERE IS A MEMORIAL HALL IN HIS NAME. THE WINDOW IS VERY NICE AND HEAVY. PROBABLY DATES TO LATE 1800s or EARLY 1900s. SMITH DIED IN 1894. 14 3/16″ BY ABOUT 43 7/8″. IT HAS 3 SUPPORT BARS IN PLACE. THERE IS HANDPAINTED AND FIRED GLASS AND 2 LARGE JEWELS. AS WITH ANY WINDOW THIS AGE.. THERE ARE A COUPLE TIGHT CRACKS, AND A FEW WHICH LOOK LIKE THEY WERE PROFESSIONALLY LEADED OVER. THIS WINDOW COMES WITH A PACKET OF INFORMATION REGARDING A.
