Antique Gothic Revival Leaded Stained Glass Window Saints Tudor Roses Painting
This as found 100+ year old attic discovery from a late 1800s church measures 39 x 59 with its massive original painted wooden sash; 34 x 54 (sight) and features heavy leading (wide) in the best Gothic tradition with painted floral and foliate details over traditional colored glass. The main field is colorless glass with TONS of bubbles (making it look truly ancient) framing a rose mandorla painted with two figures, presumably saints. The vertical side panels have bold roses. You will note a pronounced bulge/sag in the large center area in spite of sturdy bar reinforcement and numerous fine/tight cracks in the glass with no obvious loss. It is dirty and will be a true gem when the grime is removed to reveal the gorgeous colors.
