ANTIQUE STAINED LEADED GLASS WINDOW, PA COAL TOWN VICTORIAN, LATE 1800s. Architectural salvage from a Victorian home in the northeast Pennsylvania area. Exact house is unknown. True to period style slag glass (see pictures 4,5). WINDOW HAS A COUPLE OF TIGHT CRACKS, ONE IS PICTURED IN PHOTO 7. CRACKS ARE TIGHT, GLASS IS NOT LOOSE OR FALLING APART. Antique Gothic Revival Leaded Stained Glass Window Saints Tudor Roses Painting

This as found 100+ year old attic discovery from a late 1800s church measures 39 x 59 with its massive original painted wooden sash; 34 x 54 (sight) and features heavy leading (wide) in the best Gothic tradition with painted floral and foliate details over traditional colored glass. The main field is colorless glass with TONS of bubbles (making it look truly ancient) framing a rose mandorla painted with two figures, presumably saints. The vertical side panels have bold roses. You will note a pronounced bulge/sag in the large center area in spite of sturdy bar reinforcement and numerous fine/tight cracks in the glass with no obvious loss. It is dirty and will be a true gem when the grime is removed to reveal the gorgeous colors. ANTIQUE FULL BEVELED LEADED GLASS TRANSOM WINDOW 65.25 x 16.5 SALVAGE

This beautiful beveled glass window. Was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. All the glass is beveled all the way around. It is in the original frame, painted both sides. Measurements are 65.25 inches wide, 16.5 tall and 1.5 thick. The glass only is appx 61 by 12. Overall, it is in good condition. Scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning but should clean up nicely. There are a couple tight hairlines. It was originally a sidelite, one end of the frame will need to be trimmed to make it symmetrical. Please look at the pictures carefully. I describe all my items as accurately as possible with descriptions and often pictures of any damage. I try to measure within 1/8 of an inch. My salvage business was born of necessity in 1993 when I started restoring an old Victorian home that had seen better days. I needed doors, staircase parts, fireplace mantles and more, so I contacted the owners of a few local buildings that were scheduled for demolition. 17 years later this is still my full time job! I salvage whatever I can think can be reused as long as there is room in my warehouse. The warehouse is open for treasure hunting anytime by appointment. Just contact me to schedule a day and time! Sorry to do this and I hope you will stay on as fine and loyal customers. That’s an unbelievable savings as well. The glass in this shade is pretty nice as you can see in the photos and i only used two 7 watt bulbs for the photos and look how vibrant the colors are. This is a full sized lamp in that its measuring 21 inches tall and the shade being 18 inches wide. The base is properly signed Bradley and Hubbard underneath the base plate and its in very nice original chocolate brown patina with all three period sockets matching one another and in fine working order. There is no damage at all to the very heavy and well made base. As for the shade that is also in very nice overall condition. Nice quality glass and as you can see it lights up very very nicely. A stray tight age crack here or there, but certainly nothing to be alarmed about as they are very tight and not going anywhere for another 100 years. I see maybe 3-4 thats all. All the leading tight and right and a very nice geometric arts and crafts pattern in the top part of the shade with a stylized flowers and green leaves in the lower part of the shade 360 degrees around the border. All in all a very nice arts and crafts style lamp, by one of the best makers there ever was and in very nice overall condition. You cant beat that. Of course if you would like to pick it up at my location that is welcome as well. We may be able to hand deliver this item ourselves. What that means is this. If you live in the following radius or just outside it, we should communicate about not using a major carrier, so it has a better chance of survival and minimizing damage or a damage claim as well. C 1905 Unique Art Glass co. What makes these lamps are the art glasses used in making them. You can find Periwinkle Unique Art lamps but the ones with the right glass explode with beauty when lit! LOOK at the top glass Tiffany used the same glass that’s on the top geometric part of this shade. I think I saw one hairline fracture in one of the green leaves that’s it and that’s from heat normal wear, better than normal it’s amazing! Shade is 16″ wide 9″ deep. Base is gorgeous as well with appropriate cap with attached finial. 3 Eagle sockets with satellite pull chains. Nice brown cloth cord & vintage style plug. Antique Handel Leaded Stained Glass Lamp c. 1905

This is a statement piece: Superior elements arranged with deliberate planning and restraint of design yield an heirloom worthy of presentation in the most tasteful setting. A stunning and substantial lamp, with the unmistakeable gravity and warmth of pure bronze anchoring the delightful play of dazzling glass, tactfully presented and expertly crafted. That’s my aesthetic perspective on this work of art. Incidentally, my daughter was in 10th grade when she painted her bedroom walls deep purple. C’est la vie. Being that I lack the area-specific expertise to attempt a statement of this lamp’s qualities relative to those of others. The lamp has been in climate-controlled storage, and condition is unchanged from when I received it. Also yielded from the expert’s research and reproduced here are two images: that of the reference book with a comparable shade, and the side-by-side size comparison with a B&H lamp. The first of these is an absolutely MASSIVE leaded floral lamp made by Handel. This company made very few leaded lamps and those that it did make are of super high quality and highly desirable. This one is absolutely huge…. And if you don’t believe me, see picture 6 where I have placed it next to a typical Bradley & Hubbard panel lamp. The B&H can easily fit UNDER IT! The lamp is constructed with great glass that really fires up when lit. The huge 22 diameter shade consists of granite backed and regular glass arranged with a red floral pattern apron against a two-toned green petal background. Adding to the quality of the shade is the use of bent glass pieces which were much more difficult to do and required more time. The shade rests on a wonderful 4-socket “gooseneck” base with leaf embossed base. This is one of Handel’s finest bases, is solid bronze (and not copper plated pot metal which most were), and has a prominent HANDEL tag leaded into the underside. The base stands an impressive 30 tall. Although unsigned, I have copied a page out of Paul Crist’s Mosaic Shades II book that shows a nearly identical shade with yellow flowers and the same dual colored green leaf background. Occassional small cracks in the glass (to be expected on a shade as massive as this), no repairs, and all original finish. The lamp has been wired with period style cord and an old period plug, and comes ready to use and enjoy. If you have been looking for a great example of Handel’s work, this is the one for you. They don’t get much better than this in terms of color or condition, so don’t let this one pass you by. MASSIVE RARE Antique Old Leaded Slag Stained Glass Handel Tiffany Style Lam. Dear ofart, Hello and thanks for the note, Steve. You are wise to be very careful with these as there are a lot of copies out there. I have been collecting and seeling these for over 17 years now, and only do lamps. I don’t even bother with Tiffany as there are more copies out there than real ones. I completley guarantee this to be an old and authentic Handel lamp dating from around 1905. Handel did not make a lot of leaded lamps and a lot of the ones out there with a Handel tag were actually made in the 1970’s. This one is not.
