Antique Unique Art Glass Leaded Glass / Stained Glass Lamp On Wilkinson Base

Hello and thank you for looking. For your consideration is a wonderful antique leaded glass lamp. As is the case with almost all leaded lamps from this era, both shade and base are unsigned. However, both the shade and base are easily identifiable based on their characteristics. Lets start with the base as this is one is extremely easy to identify. The base is clearly made by Wilkinson. Collectors of leaded glass lamps will be very familiar with this as one of Wilkinsons most desirable bases. It can also be found all throughout Mosaic Shades Vol 2 in the Wilkinson chapter. The base is in excellent condition with no loss to the original dark patina. It retains its 3 original sockets, as well as the 3 acorn chains. The base stands a full 26 height to the finial. Please note the shade rest/finial have been changed in order to accommodate the non-Wilkinson shade. Now onto the shade. The shade is 18 and made of beautiful bent glass with a caramel background and lovely pink flowers with green leaves, that even display some subtle mottling. The shade has some heat cracks of course, but nothing serious. A 1 inch line of lead has been added to one of the top panels, presumably to address a small crack. I have confidently attributed the shade to Unique Art Glass based on several conversations with some of the most knowledgeable collectors in the field, but more importantly based on the following 2 details. 1-across the lower rim of the shade is a flat strap that measures just shy of 3/16th of an inch. A hallmark of Unique shades with an irregular border is a lower rim flat strap measuring just under 3/16. This fact can be found on p51 of Mosaic Shades 2. I have included a picture of the flat strap. 2- the upper aperture of the shade measures 3 and 5/8 inches. Again, this is a specific attribute of Unique shades that are between 14-20 inches. This fact can be found on a p50 of mosaic shades 2. The above 2 characteristics make Unique Art Glass the only viable option for shade attribution. Antique Chicago Lamp Base for slag/leaded glass marked 1907 Handel Era. This is a Chicago made lamp that is all original from the beautiful heart embossed base to the finial. This lamp is dated 1907 which corresponds completely to the Levelier snub nosed sockets that were signed in script not stamped. These sockets were discontinued around approx. 1910 which corresponds to it being a complete original piece. The lamp stands approx. 22″ tall with a 7″ base. In my opinion an absolutely mint piece. Fine antique peony flower leaded stained glass lamp with cast iron base

Fine antique peony flower leaded stained glass lamp with cast iron base. As found and looks to be a marriage of an old shade to an inexpensive old base. Base has a rusted patina replaced sockets with newer chain pulls. No cap above sockets and a replaced finial. Set up is adequate for immediate use. Shade is made from a colorful assortment of stained glass. The background slag glass has a nice mix of aqua blues and greens. Shade measures 9″ x 15 1/2″. Lamp measures 24tall to top of finial. 3 minor blemishes to the glass mostly in the same area of the skirt. 2 are short hairline cracks. The other a surface flake in the flower petal that may have been an original irregularity in the glass.
