Hello, you are viewing my listing for an Antique Stained Glass Leaded Church Window. This is a Large, Religious Christian Church Window. This is a Heavy Window that still has the hardware attached. This religious stained glass window has the wording present in the center “Gift Of Eugene & George Bellinger”. This stained glass window weighs 20 pounds and measures 39 and 3/4″ long by 17 and 5/8″ tall by 3/4 thick. This window is in good condition with 1 very faint hairline crack present on the small top middle glass panel. I have shown this in my photographs. There is normal aged wear present throughout however there are no other breaks, chips, or repairs present. This is a must have Stained Glass Window for the serious collector. It does appear that the “Gift Of” section was added on years later to the original antique window since I can see there is stained glass underneath that section and the gift of section is raised. Stained glass dates back to ancient Egyptian times with a significant rise in popularity during the Middle Ages. This is without a doubt one of the best & prettiest stained glass windows we’ve encountered in quite some time. The window features a beautiful emerald green border with a caramel colored field with warm red / purple diamonds. Caramel slag glass is the easiest color on the eyes and is why you see it widely used in windows & lamps. The already stunning window is further enhanced by a fantastic jeweled motif with rich reds & yellows & a deep blue / green shield design with a deep blue diagonal band. To us, this looks like a family heraldry design and explains the blue band on the crest. A diagonal band like this is called a “bend” and was a sign of a commodore & the deep blue color represents strength & loyalty. A Beautiful Large 20 Antique/Vintage Arts & Crafts Era. Leaded Slag Stained Glass Lamp Shade w/Fruit Design. It comes with all of the original parts to make it a hanging lamp if so desired. The photos were taken showing it mounted as a shade on a sturdy floor lamp and it could be used accordingly. As you can see from the photos the blue/green/purple glass pieces are iridescent colors. Very cool when lit up! It’s a multi-panel shade that has no damage to the glass. No cracks, chips or breaks, which is rare and hard to find. (We’ll make sure to pack it so it arrives in the same condition). The apples & pears on the sides stick out about 3/4″ to 1″ from the sides. The cherries are flat. Measurements: 20″ diameter (plus the fruit that sticks out on the edge 3/4′-1″). 14tall to the top of the crown. A very helpful eBayer sent us a lovely message about the history of this shade. He said it was made by a company known as Chapman House Tiffanies in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, USA. Dennis Fusaro and Christopher Foster were the original owners. When the company closed in the 1970’s, many of the workers formed the Heart Tiffany company out of New London, Connecticut about 20 miles north of Old Saybrook. Thanks for the great info!
